Palm Springs, CA – As a European-style festival showcasing more than 40 food, beer and wine tasting booths, Oktoberfest Palm Springs will be a unique event in the heart of downtown. The event will be held on Oct. 13 from Noon-6 p.m., and benefits CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and Les Dames d’Escoffier (Providing scholarships for female chefs).
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a 501 © 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to speak for the best interests of abused, neglected and abandoned children in the courts of Riverside County. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for each child to secure a safe, permanent and nurturing home. We are diligent advocates for the services needed to help each child become a healthy and productive adult, able to break the chain of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
CASA volunteers provide advocacy for children in the foster care system. CASAs visit their assigned child frequently, submit written reports for all the child’s hearings, and attend court with the child. CASAs ensure that the child’s essential needs are met, that all court orders are carried out and that any violations of the court’s orders are brought to the attention of the court. For more information on becoming a CASA volunteer or to make a donation, please visit our website at www.casariversidecounty.org

They award scholarships to female students in both the hospitality and food science industries. The invitation-only membership, composed of 28 individual chapters across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom is highly diversified and reflects the multi-faceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.
