The focus of the Ad Hoc Committee is to work together on gang intervention best practices and to collaborate on intervention/prevention outreach programs, working in partnership with local nonprofit agencies, ministerial groups and county agencies that will provide services and resources to the city’s gang population, said DHS Police Commander Ken Peary. The Ad Hoc Committee will report its findings and recommendations to the City Council in Spring 2013. The public is strongly encouraged to attend future meetings.
