The Desert Hot Springs Police Officers’ Association held its annual Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec. 22 and the Boys & Girls Club.
“The economy continues to hit people hard, times are tough and we were pleased we had the opportunity to help families in need from our community. Toys were handed out by members of our association and families were provided a turkey dinner with a few side dishes. It was great to see the smiles on everyone’s faces; it made this event very fulfilling and helps forge the continued relationship with the residents we service every day,” said DHS Police Commander Ken Peary.
“We wanted to thank the Boys & Girls Club in Desert Hot Springs for providing the location for the event and for selecting the families in need from our city. We also wanted to thank all those who donated and contributed to the event including the Boys & Girls Club, the Edward Wenzlaff PTA, Vons in Desert Hot Springs, Stater Bros., the Alvarez family from Citizens on Patrol, and all those who I didn’t mention or wanted to remain anonymous. With their support and donations it made our event extremely successful,” Peary said.
