Sheriff’s Department Seeks More Women in the Ranks

Women’s Fitness Challenge

PALM DESERT – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continues to work very hard in recruiting women into our law enforcement ranks. On Saturday, Mar. 2 at 7 a.m., they are hosting a “Women’s Fitness Challenge” at Palm Desert High School.

The Women’s Fitness Challenge is an opportunity for women who are interested in a career as a Deputy Sheriff or Correctional Deputy to come together and learn techniques to be successful in the physical assessment testing process.

The Riverside County Sheriff Department has numerous opportunities for women interested in serving in law enforcement. Women interested in joining the team will find an environment that is personally rewarding, promotes team work and offers the opportunity for rapid advancement.

Sheriff Stan Sniff, Undersheriff Colleen Walker, Lieutenant Cheryl Evans, and other women of distinction within the department will be available to answer questions for the participants. Also in attendance there will be a vast array of department members from specialized teams. These members will be available to provide further information of what our agency has to offer.

Women who are interested in serving their community are encouraged to attend this event. The event is intended for all women, 18 years of age and older, who are interesting in applying for Deputy Sheriff Trainee or a Correctional Deputy positions. “We will look forward to meeting with women who attend and may potentially join our team.”
