Kenneth J. Peary named Desert Hot Springs Police Commander

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Kenneth J. Peary to Police Commander. Commander Peary was sworn in at the City Council meeting at the Carl May Center on Tuesday Feb. 5. Peary has been serving in an interim capacity after the promotion of Kate Singer to Chief of Police in August.

Commander Peary has been with the DHS Police Department for four years, coming to DHS PD after 17 years of service with the San Bernardino Police Department.

Commander Peary has worked as both a Patrol Watch Commander and as Detective Sergeant. Commander Peary will serve as the Support Services Commander overseeing the Investigations Division, Code Enforcement, and Personnel and Training. Additionally, he will be the Department’s Public Information Officer (PIO).
